Where the Heck Have You Been?

Completion.

That is what I am feeling right now goes, utter completion. I have been absent for so long because this awful thing called a 'dissertation' has been taking over every inch of my life, even after hand-in I was still dreaming about it! But anyway I am back now, and with a vengeance. Big new things are happening for this blog, and you shall see, and hopefully enjoy! Anyway I thought I'd let you see how we decided to celebrate...in standard student style. Firstly we made that dreaded trip to the department to hand in, what I can only describe as, 50 pages of crap. Then onto some department drinks where everyone proceeded to get a little tipsy, and laugh about times gone by!

Rule #1 BE PREPARED, before you descend those copious flights of stairs make sure you are ready to leave, otherwise a combination of 'pre-drinks' and staircases will render you useless!

Rule #2 Make sure you are surrounded by a great amount of wonderful people, who are equally as eager to celebrate as you are!

Rule #3 Fuel your evening with wonderful homemade cocktails that taste delicious and you don't know what's happening until it's too late! Furthermore, fuel your friends with the same stuff for future entertainment!

Rule #4 Make sure you look half decent when leaving the house, and are still accompanied by everyone and make your way to some wonderful venues who are even MORE eager to have you celebrate with them!

Overall, absolutely cracking night, and times are still young! There's plenty of more celebrating to do. But for now, I am venturing back down south for some fun and relaxation!

The Big Two-One

Happy 21st To Jessica!

So, it's been a while, and I have a completely legitimate excuse, it's called...THE DISSERTATION. Every third years biggest fear. It stealthily creeps up on you, and then BAM five minutes later it's due in. But I am getting there, slowly but surely. Anyway a welcome break came in the form of Jess' 21st birthday! So, it started with me cooking a beautiful breakfast (if I do say so myself), consisting of bagels, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, delicious! And then Jess delved into her presents from her boyfriend Zak, the boy did good. A great one was the Olsen twins wonderful Influence book, so now we are matching (mine is Ashley, obviously).

Then came the night out, after some fantastic news from the university: got 85% and 68% in my last two essays! Anyway, I got myself a new playsuit to celebrate and actually did something to my library drenched hair!

Millie's Cookies Cake! Absolute gem.

The Beautiful Birthday Girl and her Wonderful Best Friend (aka, moi)

Yeah Baby!

So, then we headed into town for cocktails! Kennedy's, Stone Roses and then onto Kuda to cut some serious shapes! All in all, except for some SERIOUS drama later on involving wild strangers with anger management issues, we had a great night! It was so wonderful to be able to celebrate such a beautiful lady's birthday, and then even better to be able to top it off with some Dominos! (Yes, there is no cheese on it, I am weird).

Film #3

Just a Few Snaps

So, as you all know, my mother bestowed a lovely old SLR to me at Christmas, and I mean I am yet to master it, but I haven't done too badly! So I thought I would let you see a few of my favourite snaps!

Mike, just chillin'

Heaven on Earth, also known as Pigeon Point - Tobago

So much love this young man, my brother from another mother...and father

My favourite place on Earth, Maracus Beach - Trinidad

The sun is out, so is the freshly squeezed lemonade

My beautiful Rapunzel, aka Miss Lauren
Well, I hope you enjoyed looking at these as much as I enjoyed taking them! I just love the clarity of the pictures, something there that a DSLR just doesn't quite get.

Library Blues

Coping Techniques

If you're anything like me, or in a similar situation (final year student) you will be putting in some serious hours in the library sat in front of what looks like endless notes, and a blank screen, with an equally blank expression painted on your face. So, I have an inability to multi-task, which includes reading and listening to music, thank goodness I am past the point of needing to do anymore reading (as of yet...) so I have plugged myself into Spotify! And there are a few albums and singles that so far have blown me away and truly helped me cope with the Library Blues! And here they are...
