This Is the End

So last night, one of my favourite people came to my rescue. Luke. He saved me from my boredom and we headed to the cinema to see World War Z. So, we arrived and no more than two minutes of being in the building Luke made, what I would call, the best decision he's made in a long time. "We're seeing This is the End btw, Amy," and well I couldn't be bothered to argue (plus wasn't really that bothered by WWZ), so I scooped up some nachos and headed into the screen. Within two minutes I was cracking up, the whole film was so funny that tears were streaming down my face by the end! An all-star, funny-man cast plus cameos from so many different big names, like Emma Watson, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Michael Cera and Jason Segal (plus many more) just added a little zazz! The actors were playing 'themselves' and are encountered with the Apocalypse, and unlike so many others, they haven't been saved by God! It's absolutely brilliant, and Luke and I have already decided we're seeing it again, regardless of the ridiculous amount of money the cinema costs these days! Go see it guys and girls, you won't be let down (I mean if Rogen's stuff is your sort of thing). Also, if you're interested, this guy (remember Sorcerer's Apprentice?) just brings a WHOLE new meaning to hot, geeky guy! Super cute.

Check out the trailer (link at the top) and let me know what you think if you see it!

Whoever said routine was boring, didn't know me. I mean I'm the first one to admit I fear as well as loathe change at the start, but once experienced I tend to love it and forget the original routine in the first place! However, there is one routine I would not change for the world: South West London with Charlotte. There is nothing boring about this routine, in fact it always provides copious amount of entertainment and allows for new deep meaningful conversations (aka DMCs, aka gossip) that never fails to leave you with something exciting to think about! So, it tends to start with a drink at the White Hart in Barnes where you can sit outside and enjoy a lovely (somewhat overpriced) glass of wine whilst looking over the Thames pondering life!

On sunny days this place is absolutely breathtaking, not to mention the delicious  BBQ menu they've got going. If you've never been and are looking for a lovely pub, hedge your bets on this one guys. Then, my favourite part, onto London's worst kept secret: The Churchill Arms. The most delicious, well priced (especially for Notting Hill) Thai food you will ever have, I mean a friend of mine from Thailand was raving about it! My personal favourite, is a vegetable spring rolls starter (unnecessary) and then onto a Chicken Pad Siew! This time, we devoured it in half an hour, probably not the best idea, but just so delicious! Check it out, but make sure to book it tends to get booked up quick.

Sadly, the time to leave London always arrives (hopefully, this will end soon) and return home. The only exciting bit of my 30min train home is going past the Olympic Park and even that has lost it's pizzazz! So, as usual I treat myself to a few nibbles from Wasabi, brilliantly priced and sure to fill me up.

Therefore, I challenge anyone to call my routine boring! I get to submerge myself in the beauty of South West London whilst treating my stomach to delicious food from all corners of the world, not to mention drowning myself in Pinot Grigio and great company. So, embrace your favourite routines, just as long as you still appreciate their finesse!

Please Excuse My Absence

So, you must, I beg, excuse my neglect of this blog, I have been insanely business, which could potentially be an understatement! I was finishing my dissertation (bleugh!), then embracing my freedom and enjoying my last few weeks of uni with my friends. Now that's all done and dusted, I'll let you into the loop and show you how we celebrated!
Lauren and I thought for sure this would be our last moment in the library, boy were we wrong, must of come back about five times! Bloomin' books! But when we did finally leave, we all managed to get a silly and pretty as we could and head out and conquer the town!

But that all proved a little too much for me, so I went back down south for a week of R+R!  Well, not really because I ended up going out more there than at uni. But did treat myself to some Benihana's delight, if you've never been I thoroughly recommend it! Not only is the food fab, the experience just tops it off wonderfully!

Also got to see some home friends, who are so close to my heart but way too far away! Luke spent the sunny day being bullied by my beautiful dog! Massive bromance occurred between those too, Luke and Reggie, it's got a ring to it hasn't it?

Then it was back for the saddest two weeks of my life. Leaving uni was way harder than anyone told me it would be! Regardless, we had Al's birthday, Goodfest, Summer Ball, our impromptu house party and Sam's 22nd to keep us entertained, and entertained we were!

Lauren got her mits on someone's trophy again, thankfully this one did not end up stolen and gathering dust in our house somewhere!

War Faces on for the Dodgems!
Dayum I've got hot friends ;)
The most sober picture of Luke I. that I am yet to find!

It was an emotional farewell, but these guys haven't seen the last of me (unlucky) and I've definitely not seen the last of them. Graduation here we come!

A Wonderful Occasion

Happy Birthday Miss Emily

So, the 30th of May is one of my favourite days ever, because it means the celebration of one of my soul sisters' birth! For over ten years, me and this lady have been sharing secrets, tears and joy,  fighting like cats and laughing a hell of a lot! I don't know where I'd be without her, she makes me so proud (absolute genius this one, with ambition like nobody's business, watch this space). Anyway, her lovely mother Carole put on a little spread for the family and friends, it was so delicious that I left weighing double what I weighed upon arrival, thanks!

It was a beautiful afternoon, full of champagne, smoked salmon and chocolate cake! Not to mention I got the pleasure of meeting the one and only Grandma Sylvia! Happy Birthday Emily, it has been an honour to be able to call myself your best friend for yet another year.
