Friday Nights In When You're 23

So, much to my happiness, apparently you don't grow up when you turn 23. Friday nights in with a girl that has been my best friend for over 10 years are always a source of great entertainment, but this time we decided to share it with the world. I hope you enjoy as much as I do, and remember, we're 23 so clearly age is just a number baby.

Fujifilm Instax and Exeter!

So, I got a Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 (in blue, duh), which not only made my sister very jealous, but also was weirdly super exciting. With all our camera phones and DSLRs, why is it that polaroids are still so wonderfully in demand? So, I took it to my trip to Exeter (which is such a great place by the way) and found the answer:

They're just so cute! And will be featured all over my mirror. Urban Outfitters were trying to charge £30 for 20 shots, but good old trusty amazon sells them for as cheap as £14.99 for 20. Okay, that isn't cheap but it's so worth it!

Muriel's Kitchen - South Kensington

So, where to get a good hearty breakfast in London? If you appreciate a good breakfast, and aren't looking to break the bank or have too many frills then try Muriel's Kitchen. Plus, they switch it up monthly to bring you different dishes, how nice of them is that? Let's just hope they don't swap out any personal favourites please! As we walked in we were immediately met with temptation! The tongs were just sitting in the muffin baskets screaming TAKE ME, my mum actually had to be shuffled along and reminded that we were here for breakfast (she bought one afterwards).

The decor was all just a little bit too cute! I even went so far as to comment the 'matte white tiling' they had used on the walls (am I getting old?).

Mum went for a good old coffee to wake her up, but I thought I'd try a 'Vitamin Hug,' because who doesn't like to be healthy and enjoy a hug at the same time? Well, this was one of the best hugs ever: apple, orange, carrot and ginger and so beautifully blended (I resisted asking which blender they used to make this delicious creation - less old?).

Mum opted for a scrambled eggs/omlette, inside a English muffin with crispy bacon concoction...

...whilst I opted for the 'ULTIMATE SAUSAGE SARNIE' (as described in the menu), although I feel like it may not have lived up to it's name, probably because I was SUPER hungry and had some pretty damn high expectations. It was a delicious farmhouse bread sarnie with cumberland sausages, and roasted onions and tomatoes! Nom nom nom!

So, like I said, you want a good breakfast and happen to be in South Kensington, Soho or Leicester Square, go try out one of Muriel's Kitchens (go Muriel!) and enjoy yourself!

Winter Music Exploration!

So, I'm no music connoisseur. In fact The Jonas Brothers and Justin Bieber still make appearances on my playlists (not too regularly though, but PHWOAR has anyone seen Nick Jonas recently?). And to this day Bon Jovi and Def Leppard are considered two of my favourite bands. Anyway, a lot of my friends are really into their music and well I thought it was time I really explore and be a bit more up to date. So here are a couple of songs that I'm sort of really into at the moment:

#1 Martin Luke Brown - Nostalgia

There's something about this song that sort of makes me really happy, but actually really nostalgic at the same time. I picture it in a Sofia Coppola coming of age movie, don't ask me why, but maybe you'll see what I mean!

#2 Nat and Alex Wolff - Where I'm Goin'

Nat Wolff of Fault in Our Stars, Palo Alto and Stuck In Love fame, teamed up with his brother a long time ago to bring us some pretty chilled tunes. He's one of those nerds you can't help but fall in love with, well I can't help fall in love with. Anyway, really like the song and the direction in which this album is going in! There's a really good live version for you too!

#3 Young Fathers - Low

More good stuff coming out of Scotland! These guys seem like, I don't know, really really nice versions of Tyler the Creator mixed with the catchiness of Pharrell. I'm going to try and catch them at XOYO on the 10th of December in London!

I don't think I've done too badly, for a first start! Let me know what you think, and if you know anything like this that I can explore!
